Former players of the X-treme Fastpitch organization have taken their softball skills to college and are helping their new teams in divisional and regional tournaments. Five ( 5 ) former X-Treme players will be participating in the NCAA DIV II & III regionals after either winning their conference championships or being awarded "at-large bids" for being nationally ranked. Lebanon Valley College (LVC) will be participating in the regional hosted in Ithaca. Sophomores Kristen Palmerio and Chelsea Detwiler will be playing for LVC Dutchmen. Dickinson College will be playing the host team Ithaca College in the same regional and in the same bracket as LVC. Freshman Denise Haines is playing for Dickinson College Red Devils and could be on a collision course with former X-Treme players Palmerio and Detwiler which would be a special reunion of former teammates. Sarah Dowzicky playing for Susquehanna University will be participating in the Regional hosted in Newport News Virginia. Sarah would not see her former teammates unless everyone was lucky enough to make it to the College World Series. Lastly, Jamie Palmerio is playing at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Jamie will be participating in the NCAA DII Mid Atlantic regionals at Bloomsburg, PA. They will be playing West Virginia, Weslian in there first game on Friday. Jamie is a senior.
The X-Treme organization continues to develop its younger players with a focus on preparing everyone to play at the next level. These are a few examples of former players lucky enough to have moved closer to the College World Series.
